Hoya.

There are about 200 srecies, distributed over southern China, the Indian archipelago, and Australia. Only three are known as house plants.
Evergreen climbers with thick, somewhat succulent leaves and waxy flowers in pendulous clusters

Instructions
1. Provide the hoya with some direct sunlight. These plants do tolerate the moderate light from a west window, but for the best growth and most frequent production of flowers, place them in front of unshaded south or east windows.

2. Place hoyas in a range of different temperatures. Hoyas will tolerate cool and hot temperatures, so they make good plants to grow in areas other plants will not.


3. Water hoyas when the top several inches of soil have dried. Use your finger to gauge the moisture. It is best to water hoyas less in the winter, allowing their soil to dry in between waterings.

4. Leave long, leafless stems on the plants. Hoyas send out long shoots of stems without any leaves on them. Although it may be tempting to cut these off, leaves and blooms eventually fill the stems. Trimming them slows the growth of the plant.

5. Consider staking hoya plants you grow in pots. Place a piece of wood or bark in the middle of the pot and wrap the stems around it. Keep the wood or bark moist for additional humidity.

Height: Trailing stems can grow to 10 ft (3 m)
Light: Bright light with some direct sun. Hoyas will live in low light, but will not bloom.
Water: Keep soil evenly moist spring through fall. In winter, water sparingly giving the plant just enough to keep the soil from drying out completely.
Humidity: Average room humidity.
Temperature: Average room temperatures 60-75°F, 16-24°C
Soil: Peat moss based potting mix.
Fertilizer: Feed monthly spring through fall with high-potassium liquid fertilizer diluted by half.
Propagation: Take 3 in (7 cm) stem tip cuttings in spring. Cuttings should include at least 1 pair of leaves. They will root easily in moist potting mix.
Pests and diseases. Mealy bugs, scale insects and red spider mites will appear if the plant is kept too warm in winter. The Miniature Wax Plant is susceptible to root rot, so good drainage is therefore essential.
